We are thrilled to announce that miRoncol’s featured presentation at the World Lung Cancer Oral Presentation on September 9, 2021, unveiled a groundbreaking blood test for early lung cancer detection! This innovative test utilizes tiny genetic markers called microRNAs, found in the blood, to accurately identify lung cancer in its earliest stages.
Our researchers developed a model based on four specific microRNAs, which proved incredibly effective. In trials, this test achieved an almost perfect score, correctly identifying lung cancer with an astounding 99% accuracy! It significantly outperformed existing methods like low-dose CT scans and even surpassed an earlier version of the test.
This exciting breakthrough offers exceptional accuracy and holds the potential to revolutionize how we screen for and monitor early-stage lung cancers, making it a powerful new tool in the fight against this disease.
