miRoncol’s poster presentation was accepted by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2023. The ESMO Congress is a very important global event in oncology, bringing together doctors, scientists, patient advocates, journalists, and healthcare industry professionals. The presentation, entitled “Development of a high performance and noninvasive diagnostic model using blood cell-free microRNAs for multi-cancer early detection,” detailed the study, which developed a new, highly accurate, and affordable blood test for early detection of multiple cancers. This test, itself, looks for specific microRNAs in the blood. The new test performed better than previous versions, showing high accuracy (over 90% sensitivity) for many cancer types, including lung, gastric, glioma, and prostate cancers in various validation sets. This research suggests that these microRNA-based tests could become a valuable tool for early cancer detection.
